DETROIT, Mich — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of southeast Michigan, warning of snow and hazardous road conditions expected to impact the area Friday afternoon through early Saturday.
The advisory, in effect from 1 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday, includes cities such as Detroit, Flint, Ann Arbor, Pontiac, and Monroe. Snowfall is expected to total 2 to 4 inches, with peak accumulation occurring during the evening commute hours.

Forecasters predict snowfall rates could exceed a quarter-inch per hour between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., potentially resulting in rapid accumulations of 1 to 2 inches within a few hours. Snowfall intensity is expected to decrease overnight, with conditions improving by Saturday morning.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution, as slippery road conditions may make travel hazardous, particularly during the Friday evening rush hour.
