IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (July 14, 2025) — Authorities arrested a suspect Saturday afternoon following an attempted firebombing at the Dickinson County Republican Committee headquarters.
According to a statement from the committee, two Molotov cocktails were thrown at a building that houses several businesses, including the Republican office. No one was injured in the attack, and no significant damage was reported.
The suspect is being arraigned now. I will be sending out more details later today in my newsletter. Click here to sign up for free to get it sent to you.
Officials say the suspect appeared to be motivated by displeasure with the current administration. The attempt was reportedly unsuccessful due to what authorities described as the suspect’s “incompetence.”
The Dickinson County Republican Committee thanked the Iron Mountain Police Department for its swift response and urged that the suspect be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
“We are grateful to God that no one was injured and continue to pray for all involved,” the committee said in its statement.
The incident remains under investigation.
