SAGINAW, MI — The Saginaw Police Department has released a composite sketch of a suspect involved in the rape of a 14-year-old girl that occurred on the night of August 8, 2024.
The victim reported to authorities that she was walking near South 15th and Hartsuff Street between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind by a man who had been following her. The suspect, described as a Black male, then dragged her into an overgrown wooded area where he assaulted her.

Following the report, detectives worked closely with the victim to produce a composite sketch of the assailant. The Saginaw Police Department is now urging the public to assist in identifying the suspect.
“This was a heinous crime, and our priority is to ensure the suspect is brought to justice swiftly,” said Detective Sergeant Matthew Gerow, who is leading the investigation. “We ask anyone who may have seen something or has information about this incident to contact us.”

The police department is increasing patrols in the area while the investigation continues. They reassure the community that this is an isolated incident but urge residents to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity.
