On October 14, 2023 an annuar solar eclipse will happen. People living in the Pacific Northwest will get a good view of this rare event in person. This also depends on weather and cloud cover. The “ring-of-fire” or the “so-called “path of totality” where Earthlings will be able to see the eclipse straight on, will pass through South and Central America, before moving westward up through Texas, Nevada, California, and Oregon, though the eclipse can still be seen in the thousands of miles east and west of that line.”

Persons wishing to view this solar eclipse are asked to wear special glasses to protect their eyes from the UV radiation which can still damage the eyes when looking at the sun straight on. People can get 3D glasses from a movie theater or order cheap eclipse glasses online.
October also offers other “heavenly” viewing oportunities as well. A full moon or “Harvest Moon” will happen on October 24th and there will be several oportunities to view “falling stars”.
