CLIO, Mich – A domestic dispute escalated into a fatal shooting involving law enforcement on the evening of Tuesday, March 26, 2024. At around 7:35 PM, officers from the Clio Police Department alongside deputies from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Mill Street in response to reports of a domestic disturbance and gunfire.

Upon their arrival, officers encountered a distressing scene with a female victim found on the steps of an apartment building. The situation intensified when a male armed with a shotgun emerged, confronting the responding officers by opening fire in the roadway.
A shootout ensued between the armed individual and law enforcement, resulting in the suspect being struck. Despite immediate medical treatment at the scene and subsequent transportation to a local hospital, the suspect succumbed to his injuries.
Inside the apartment, authorities discovered an additional male victim, alongside the earlier mentioned female victim, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene.
The community can breathe a sigh of relief as no officers or bystanders were harmed during the tragic incident, and authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation into this grave incident is actively underway, led by the Clio Police Department, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Michigan State Police. Details surrounding the identities of the individuals involved are pending confirmation as the investigation continues.
