Suspect attacks homeowner and dog in Tuscola County

TUSCOLA TWP, Mich-  April 2, 2024 – A distressing series of events unfolded in Tuscola Township on the evening of April 1st when local law enforcement was called to a residence at around 7 PM following a threats complaint. Deputy Kyle Bischer was the first to respond to the urgent call from a household reporting a male relative making grave threats to burn down their home and harm its occupants.

Upon arrival, Deputy Bischer noted the absence of the accused, prompting a search operation by the deputies. However, the situation escalated when the family reported the return of the suspect, this time threatening to ram his truck into their home. The suspect is alleged to have forcibly entered the residence, assaulting both the caller and their pet dog in the process.

Reinforcements arrived shortly after, with Deputy Armstrong and Vassar Officer Dekun joining the efforts to control the volatile situation. The confrontation ended with the arrest of the 45-year-old male suspect, who now faces a slew of charges including home invasion, assault, animal abuse, operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) for the second offense, and possession of open intoxicants in a vehicle.

Authorities are preparing formal charges against the suspect, ensuring justice is served for the affected family and their pet.
