SAGINAW, Mich – High winds are expected to sweep across Michigan on Monday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory for several regions in the state. Southwest winds are forecasted to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph.
The advisory will impact areas including Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, and Oakland counties. In West Michigan, Allegan County will also be under a Wind Advisory from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.
Forecasters warn that the strong winds may cause considerable cloudiness and could result in afternoon snow with little to no accumulation. The gusty conditions are expected to blow around unsecured objects, and residents are urged to secure outdoor items and exercise caution while driving.
Officials recommend staying updated on weather conditions and preparing for possible power outages as the winds intensify throughout the day.
