Dallas, Texas – At around 10 pm last night (Thursday), Dallas Police responded to an officer in distress in the 900 block of East Ledbetter Drive. Police became involved in a shootout with a suspect who was later shot and killed by officers responding to an officer in distress call.
Kristin Lowman, the Dallas Police Spokesperson said that the department is “hurting” this morning after losing one of their own. One other officer is in critical condition and another is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

The police department also added that “Flags at all city facilities will be flown at half-staff” and also noted that an investigation is ongoing.
