MIDLAND, Mich – Dow GLBR reports a chemical release occurred at their Michigan Operations Industrial Park in Midland.
The company released the following statement on its Facebook page:
The release resulted in a plume that may have briefly extended outside the facility. Several roads near the facility were temporarily closed as a precaution. No further issues have been reported. Site emergency personnel responded immediately and collaborated with city and county officials to ensure the safety of the community and the environment.
The company said the release was contained within the site and that all personnel are accounted for and are safe.
As of 11:43 a.m., all buildings are cleared and business operations have returned as normal.
The company did not specify what chemical was released.
