FLINT, Mich. — A string of destructive acts involving stolen construction equipment caused extensive damage to multiple properties in Flint, city officials said.
The vandalism spree targeted Hardenbrook Park, DNH Party Store and the former Swanson Funeral Home. Two buildings sustained damage, and playground equipment at the park was destroyed, along with significant harm to surrounding grounds.

Despite the destruction, city crews responded swiftly. Flint’s blight team was out on the scene cleaning up the damage, working throughout the day to restore affected areas.

City officials and residents praised the team for their quick response and commitment to the community.
“This is a reminder of the resilience and dedication we have in Flint,” a spokesperson said. “We appreciate our crews for stepping up when the city needs them most.”
The incident remains under investigation.
