DETROIT – The UAW has decided to plan more strikes and assembly plants against Ford and General Motors. According to CNBC, These assembly plants are going to be at the Ford’s Chicago Assembly in Illinois and GM’s Lansing Delta Township plant in mid-Michigan.
UAW President Shawn Fain said Friday that “Moments before this broadcast, Stellantis made significant progress on the 2009 cost of living allowance, the right not to cross a picket line, as well as the right to strike over product commitments and plant closures and outsourcing moratoriums,” said Fain, who was delayed nearly 30 minutes in making the online announcement. “We are excited about this momentum at Stellantis and hope it continues.

According to CNN, The strike will occur at noon ET on Friday. This comes a week after similar work stoppages were done at other assembly plants, incfurtherluding parts assembly plants. “Last week, the union targeted a further 38 parts and distribution locations operated by GM and Stellantis. At that time, the UAW spared Ford from expanded strikes, citing progress in those negotiations.”
