GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — In a decisive victory at Michigan’s GOP convention, former President Donald Trump captured all of the state’s 39 congressional district delegates, NBC News reports. The convention, marked by internal party conflicts and confusion, saw Trump secure overwhelming support across Michigan’s 13 congressional districts, achieving 100% of votes in four districts and over 90% in most others.

The Michigan GOP’s two-part delegate selection process concluded with the convention affirming Tuesday’s primary results, where Trump won 12 delegates and his rival, Haley, secured four. Trump’s total delegate count from Michigan now stands at 51, compared to Haley’s four.
The convention was overshadowed by disputes within the Michigan GOP leadership, leading to last-minute cancellations and alternative meetings. Pete Hoekstra, recognized by the Republican National Committee as the state party chair, organized the Grand Rapids convention. In contrast, Kristina Karamo, the ousted former chair, had planned a separate event in Detroit, which was canceled following a court order.
Despite the chaotic lead-up, the Grand Rapids convention drew a large crowd. However, some local activists expressed frustration over credentialing issues stemming from the leadership dispute between Hoekstra and Karamo. Various districts attempted to hold their own conventions, adding to the confusion.
