Toilet Paper and Tradition: Kingston Seniors Say Goodbye with Classic Prank

GUEST AUTHOR:  Misty Freyaldenhoven

As the school year came to a close, seniors at Kingston High School geared up for one of the most anticipated traditions: senior pranks. Among the countless creative and sometimes outrageous pranks, toilet papering the school remains a classic favorite for the Kingston Cardinals.

Sometime in the wee hours of the night of May 8th, 2025 Kingston School grounds transformed into a scene of playful chaos. Trees, fences, and even the school building itself are adorned with streams of toilet paper, creating a whimsical landscape. The prank, while harmless, serves as a rite of passage for graduating seniors, marking the end of their high school journey with a touch of humor and solidarity.

Teachers and staff, often left with the task of cleaning up, generally take the pranks in stride. Many recognize it as a harmless tradition that fosters a sense of solidarity and celebration among students. It’s all in good fun and a way for the seniors to leave their mark and create lasting memories. While some schools have implemented rules to ensure that pranks remain safe and respectful, the spirit of senior pranks continues to thrive.

As the toilet paper is cleared away and the school returns to normal, the memories of the prank linger, becoming a cherished part of the Kingston Cardinal history and for the seniors, it’s a final farewell with a moment of shared laughter, and reminder that high school is not just about academics, but also about friendships and fun that make the journey unforgettable.
