House approves ban on TikTok if company doesn’t take drastic action

WASHINGTON D.C. – The United States House of Representatives has voted to ban TikTok in the United States unless the company takes action to divest itself from the Chinese government. The measure passed 352-65, with one abstention. The bill would give China-linked parent company ByteDance five months to sell TikTok.

U. S. House of Representatives – The House Energy and Commerce Committee announced an outright ban on the app TikTok unless the Chinese owner Byte Dance agrees to divest the app.  The app has some 150 million United States users with up to 5 million who make money using it.
