DETROIT, Mich — A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for all of Southeast Michigan, effective from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit announced early Tuesday.

Heavy snowfall is expected to impact the region, with projections indicating between 4 to 7 inches of snow accumulation by Wednesday night. Areas north of I-94 may experience up to 8 inches, while light icing is possible in locations south of I-94.

The watch, initially covering select parts of the region, has now been expanded to include all of Southeast Michigan. Travel disruptions are anticipated, particularly during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.

The NWS urges residents to plan ahead, check for updated forecasts, and allow extra time for travel during the storm.
