Sex offender wanted for murder of Tech CEO in Baltimore, MD

UPDATAE:  After a two-day massive manhunt, Jason Billingsley was arrested without incident.  At around 11:10 pm Wednesday night.  He was located at the MARC train station of Laurel-Bowie Road in Bowie, Prince George’s County, Maryland.  He faces first-degree murder and assault charges.  A news conference is scheduled for 11am this morning.

 

BALTIMORE, MD –Tech CEO, Pava LaPere, 26, was found dead in her apartment late Monday morning after someone allowed 32 year old Jason Dean Billingsley into her secured apartment building.

LaPere, was the co-founder and CEO of ECO MAPS Technologies.  She started the company after attending Johns Hopkins University.  In a Facebook post, ECO Maps stated “Pava’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity, amplifying ecosystems, and fortifying Baltimore’s tech community set her apart as an exceptional leader, and her boundless passion for EcoMap’s mission was foundational to our success”

Billingsley is also wanted in another case but police would not elaborate.

Acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said Tuesday, that Billingsley should never have been released from prison.  Billingsley is considered armed and extremely dangerous.  “This individual will kill and he will rape. He will do anything he can to cause harm,” acting Police Commissioner Richard Worley cautioned, citing the suspect’s alarming rap sheet.
