MICHIGAN, USA — Rite Aid has announced the closure of 27 additional stores in the Midwest as part of its ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. According to court documents filed Monday, the drugstore chain will shutter 12 stores in Michigan and 15 in Ohio.

This move follows a 2021 announcement where Rite Aid revealed plans to close numerous stores across the U.S., aiming to save approximately $25 million annually. The decision aligns with a broader trend of pharmacy chains reducing their number of locations.
