Brussels, Jan 18 (Reuters) – NATO is gearing up for its most extensive military exercise in decades, as around 90,000 troops are set to participate in Steadfast Defender 2024. The exercise is scheduled to commence next week and will run through May, according to statements from NATO’s top commander, Chris Cavoli.

During a press conference held in Brussels following a two-day meeting of national chiefs of defense, General Cavoli highlighted the strategic significance of the upcoming exercise. “The Alliance will demonstrate its ability to reinforce the Euro-Atlantic area by a transatlantic movement of forces from North America,” he stated.
