(NewsNation) – The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has increased a reward to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of 42-year-old Kenneth DeHart. Mr. DeHart is accused of killing Deputy Greg McCowan, and injuring Deputy Shelby Eggers during a traffic stop.
“The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has issued warrants charging 42-year-old Kenneth DeHart with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the Feb. 8 shootings.”
DeHart’s girlfriend and brother were also arrested on February 8th and remain in jail following initial investigation. The girlfriend, 32-year-old Carrie Matthews was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued following a phonc call she received from DeHart warning him of police showing up at her residence looking for DeHart. “Additionally, DeHart’s brother, 41-year-old Marcus DeHart, was arrested Feb. 9.”
Dehart has been accused of first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
