Emergency services are currently on the scene, evaluating the extent of the damage and addressing urgent situations. Authorities are urging residents and commuters to steer clear of several key intersections that have been severely affected. These include Dort Highway with Reid Road and Gibson Road, as well as the crossing of Reid Road and Porter Road. While Grand Blanc Road remains accessible, caution is advised in the vicinity.

Residents are reminded to treat any downed power lines as live and dangerous. Such hazards should be reported to emergency services immediately.

The community is also bracing for further disruptions, as Genesee County remains under a Wind Advisory. The National Weather Service has forecasted wind gusts reaching up to 45 mph throughout the day, from 7 AM to 7 PM, which may exacerbate the current power outages.

For those resorting to the use of generators during this period, safety guidelines recommend positioning these units at least 30 feet away from residential structures to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. It is critically important to ensure that generators are never operated within enclosed spaces.
