GENESEE COUNTY, Mich – The Davison Township Parks and Recreation posted the following message on it’s social media on June 30:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lake Callis will be closed for the fourth of July weekend. We will publish updates on Facebook as we receive them. Please note: there are no threatening situations taking place on the premises. All attendants on site are completely safe.”
WNEM-TV reports there have been concerns about the security of the park. There were no threatening situations on the premises and everyone at the park was safe, according to the post.
The Davison Board of Trustees are expected to discuss the issue during their meeting on Wednesday July 5 at 6p.m.
The future of the popular recreation area has many people concerned about it’s future.
