Detroit Police Chief James White released the following statement regarding the death of Detroit Synagogue President Samantha Woll.
“The investigation into the death of Ms. Woll remains ongoing. At this time, however, no evidence has surfaced suggesting that this crime was motivated by antisemitism.”
“DPD investigators are working with the FBI to forensically analyze all of the information obtained up to this point in an effort to ascertain the timeline that ultimately led to Ms. Woll’s death. Individuals with information that may further this investigation are being interviewed.”

Woll’s body was found with multiple stab wounds early Saturday morning, along with a trail of blood that led from the suspected crime scene to Woll’s home, the Detroit News reported.
The Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue released the following statement about Woll’s death:
We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President. At this point, we do not have more information, but will share more when it becomes available. May her memory be a blessing.”
The Detroit News also reports, Detroit police were called to the 1300 block of Joliet Place regarding someone “lying on the ground unresponsive,” according to a news release.
