The robbery took a tense turn when the suspect returned, picked up two prepaid Visa cards, and handed the cashier a note claiming he was armed and demanding cash from the register. Despite the interruption caused by a woman and child entering the store, the robber coerced the clerk into activating the cards for substantial amounts before making off with the cash and cards.
Fleeing the scene in a dark-colored SUV, possibly heading north on Mill Street, the suspect made away with a total of $1,500. The police urge anyone with information to come forward and contact 911, referencing CPD C# 24-084.

Local law enforcement, including GCSO, Mt. Morris City PD, Mt. Morris Twp. PD, and MSP, have been commended for their swift response and ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspect.
Chief W. Millstead extends his gratitude to the cooperating agencies and appeals to the public for assistance in capturing the culprit behind this audacious crime.
