Texas – A law in Texas that would have given police the authority to arrest and deport illegal immigrants back to Mexico has been blocked by a judge in that state. The preliminary injunction granted by U.S. District Judge David Ezra pauses a law that was set to take effect March 5 and comes as President Joe Biden and his likely Republican challenger in November, former President Donald Trump visited the southern border.
Meanwhile, the law is in appeal. This story will be updated as developments occur.
