FLINT, Mich – The Associated Press is reporting the Michigan attorney general’s office announced on Tuesday that the state’s prosecution of former Governor Rick Snyder and other officials involved in the Flint water scandal has concluded.
The decision came after the state Supreme Court declined to hear appeals regarding the dismissal of misdemeanor charges against Snyder, effectively bringing an end to criminal prosecutions.

The court’s rejection in September of prosecutors’ last-chance effort to revive charges marked a final blow. The attorney general’s office had utilized an uncommon tool, a one-judge grand jury, to indict nine individuals, including Snyder, but the Supreme Court deemed the process unconstitutional and invalidated the charges. Snyder, charged with willful neglect of duty, had his indictment dismissed.
The AP sought comment from Snyder’s attorney but received no response. The information is sourced from the Associated Press.
