Epstein list won’t be released until late January at the earliest

NEW YORK, NY – The release of over 150 names from court documents in a civil case related to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims has been delayed until at least Jan. 22, following a judge’s 30-day extension for a Jane Doe to appeal for confidentiality.

The documents originate from a settled lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015. U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska had ordered the unsealing of names, with redactions to protect minor victims.

Prominent figures, including former President Bill Clinton, are expected to be mentioned. Legal experts suggest individuals named are unlikely to face prosecution if not already implicated.

The Miami Herald has been pursuing the unsealing since 2018. Epstein, implicated in sex crimes, died in prison in 2019, while Maxwell was convicted in 2021. The information was reported by NewsNation and The Associated Press, with contributions from Katie Smith and Tyler Wornell.
