GAYLORD, Mich. — A bank robbery unfolded at Huntington Bank on E. Main Street around 11:45 a.m. Monday, according to the Gaylord Police Department. Responding to a holdup alarm, officers arrived quickly, confirming the robbery and noting that the suspect had already fled the scene.
During the incident, the suspect handed a note to a teller, demanding money and implying possession of a firearm. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he escaped in a pickup truck.
Following a swift investigation, police identified a possible Crawford County destination for the suspect. Crawford County deputies subsequently apprehended the 54-year-old white male from Northern Michigan while he was en route.
The suspect was arrested without incident and has been charged with bank robbery. He is currently held at Otsego County Jail. The Gaylord Police Department, assisted by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, continues to investigate the robbery.
