SAN ANTONIO, TX – Security officers at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland (JBSA) engaged in an exchange of gunfire with multiple active shooters early Saturday morning, according to base officials. The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. at the main gate of the JBSA Chapman Training Annex.

Local law enforcement, including the San Antonio Police Department, quickly responded to the scene, as reported by KSAT 12.
Authorities have not disclosed whether there were any injuries or provided details on the number of individuals involved in the shooting. However, it has been confirmed that the shooters did not have any known military affiliations.
In response to the incident, the main gate has been closed, and all base traffic has been redirected to alternative entry points.
