Slight Risk for Severe Weather in Michigan This Weekend

MID-MICHIGAN — The National Weather Service has issued a Slight Risk outlook for severe thunderstorms across portions of Michigan on both Friday and Saturday, with potential impacts including damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding.

Forecasters say the primary concern will be wind gusts approaching 60 mph, which could lead to downed tree limbs and power outages in some areas. Small hail is also possible during storm activity.

Meteorologists are also warning of heavy rainfall rates that may cause flash flooding, particularly in low-lying and poorly drained urban areas. Drivers are urged to use caution and avoid flooded roadways.

The timing and exact locations of the strongest storms are still being monitored. Residents are advised to stay tuned to local weather alerts and prepare for rapidly changing conditions.
